Reaching the secondary level was definitely a major landmark in the history of Gyanodaya. But there were still greater milestones beckoning Gyanodaya. So it possibly couldn’t afford to sit on its laurels and stagnate itself at the secondary level.

It had to inevitably scale greater heights of excellence and achievement. Thus came up the higher secondary wing by the name Gyanodaya Higher Secondary School which was registered with the Higher Secondary Education Board in 1996, and started the 10+2 classes in the three streams of science, management and humanities.

Initially, the classes for 10+2 were conducted in the same premises of Gyanodaya Bal Batika at Sanepa. But giving due heed to the need to give a separate focus to the 10+2 program, a separate infrastructure was developed with its own compound at Jhamsikhel.

Since then the higher secondary wing has created a separate identity for itself in terms of the wide variety of subjects offered and its excellent Board results. The institution is committed to broaden the scope of choice for its students and enhance the quality of its education.

Congratulations to you all for successfully completing your school level education. While the basic foundation of your career has been laid, you still have much ground to cover. The journey that lies ahead is surely going to be more demanding and challenging academically as you will be required to scale greater heights of achievement and excellence. In fact, it is at the Plus Two level that you truly move towards the real direction, and choose faculties that will essentially determine your career. So these two years of study are going to be the most crucial and deciding years of your life and future prospects.

The 10+2 program is affiliated to the Higher Secondary Education Board of Nepal and offers courses in three major disciplines of Science, Management and Humanities. Students study allied subjects in these disciplines at Gyanodaya in a conducive and peaceful learning environment. The faculty consists of renowned, dedicated and committed academicians with long experience in the area of education. SCIENCE

The Department of Science has a dedicated team of faculty with long standing experience in their respective fields. The department is equipped with modern hi-tech equipment where practical knowledge is imparted and supplemented by outdoor visits into the world of nature.

The teachers are very supportive who provide individual attention to students not only in the transaction of curriculum but also to mould and inculcate a scientific outlook and temperament in the students. The students are not only taught with the objective of preparing them for the Board Examination but are also counseled and informed about various career options available to them after they complete their Plus Two.

MANAGEMENT

The Department of Management, while imparting basic skills in the field of management, offers specializations in wide variety of areas like Hotel Management, Computer Science, Office Management and Secretarial Practice, etc.

The teaching faculty consists of a judicious mix of senior lecturers and professors with vast experience in their field of studies and young and dynamic fresh graduates to assist them.

Students are sometimes taken out for industrial tours and outdoor visits to give them exposure and experience practically various real life situations. Occasionally, qualified and influential resource persons from various sectors of the economy are also hired to give talk programs and educational counseling to the students.

HUMANITIES

The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences focuses on developing creativity and skills of self-expression in the students.

The department comprises of committed and qualified teachers who through their rich experience and learning develop the subtle sense of appreciation and understanding among the students for various forms of art and literature including life as a whole.

Here too, like in other departments, students are encouraged to develop skills of communication and writing and are also taken for outdoor visits to gain wider exposure, and broaden their outlook.
